Being a Bad Boss!!

You are your own boss!! Wonder why? You manage your career, your day, your
responsibilities and aspirations. You manage how you sell yourself and your
education and the way you talk to others and yourself!!
Odds are, you’re doing it awful!!
If you had a manager that talked to you the way you talked to others, you’d quit. If a
company groomed its employees as poorly as you are doing yourself, it would soon
dissolve.
Aren’t we amazed at how often people choose to fail when they go out on their own
or when they end up in one of those rare jobs that encourages one to set a goal and
manage themselves. Faced with the freedom to explore and excel they fumble and
hesitate and stall and ultimately go down!!
We are surprised when someone focused and aspirational arrives on our team.
Someone who figures out a way to work independently and away from work and
then turns that into a balanced journey with laptop in hand, as they experience the
world outside while doing their job. We are shocked that someone uses evenings
and weekends to get a higher education/certificate or start a useful new side
business. And we’re jealous when we encounter someone who has managed to
bootstrap themselves into a state of bliss as if that’s impossible or even not the
normal!!
There are few good books on being a good leader. Fewer still on managing and
leading your way into a bright future! It’s hard to think of a more essential thing to
learn than to being your own boss!!
